Over the course of the next two years this Challenge will push us further, exceeding the needs of our clients, customers and stakeholders. It is vital our objectives meet local, national and international policy, including Welsh Government’s Well-being of Future Generations Act and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
We achieved a 12% improvement in accident statistics since January 2017,
our support of Welsh-based businesses, community groups and charities has increased by 14%, our Apprentice and Graduate Programmes and Staff Training Plan have been recognised with two prestigious national awards and we are investing in more ways to reduce our impact on the environment even further.
Our decision to align our Sustainability Challenge with the Well-being of Future Generations Act has strengthened relationships with public body clients, including Welsh Government, Transport for Wales, Highways England, Network Rail and Local Authorities. Our Sustainability Challenge ensures the decisions we make as a business takes into account the needs of current and future generations.
Once again, we will continue to increase the visibility and understanding of our Sustainability Challenge, ensuring that we are all working towards the common goal of making Griffiths a truly sustainable and responsible business.
I would like to thank everybody for the hard work and commitment shown over the past two years. It’s your effort and commitment to go above and beyond which helps us achieve such positive economic, social and environmental impact during the delivery of our projects.
- Set short and long term objectives and targets against which our

- Minimise any adverse impact caused by our operations
- Raise the profile of our sustainability agenda with our people, supply chain and stakeholders.
